Long before BTH Marine existed, Tommy 'Chief' Hofstetter was making history on the water. As a world-class offshore powerboat racer and engine builder, Tommy competed at the highest levels of the sport under the APBA and UIM sanctions, winning multiple World Offshore Racing Championships throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Tommy earned his nickname 'Chief' through decades of commanding respect on and off the race course. His engines powered legendary championship teams that became iconic in the world of offshore racing, competing against the best in the sport and winning on the world stage.

While Tommy was building his championship legacy, Blye was growing up surrounded by boats, engines, and the culture of the water. From his earliest years, Blye was immersed in everything his father built. The water wasn't just a passion for the Hofstetter family. It was a way of life.

BTH Marine was founded in 2023 with a clear and deeply personal mission. Tommy wanted to take everything he had built over a lifetime of championship racing and engine building, and share it with his son Blye.

BTH stands for Blye and Tommy Hofstetter. The name itself tells the story. This isn't a corporate dealership or a franchise operation. It's a father and son business, built on the foundation of one of the most accomplished careers in offshore racing history, and carried forward by the next generation of the Hofstetter family.

From the very first day BTH Marine opened its doors at 97951 Overseas Hwy in Key Largo, the mission has been simple. Bring championship-level expertise, genuine family values, and an unwavering commitment to the customer to everything we do.

Tommy 'Chief' Hofstetter is a 5x World Offshore Racing Champion whose career spanned some of the most exciting decades in the history of the sport. Competing under both APBA and UIM sanctions, Tommy won world championships with legendary teams throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, racing against the best in the world and building a reputation as one of the most respected engine builders and competitors in offshore racing.

After decades of building championship engines and racing at the highest level, Tommy channeled that same obsession with performance and precision into BTH Marine. Today Tommy is at the shop every single day, running the service department and overseeing every job that leaves the facility.

When your boat is at BTH Marine, Tommy is involved. That championship pedigree isn't just a story on a website. It shows up in the quality of every repair, every repower, and every engine that leaves our facility.

Blye Hofstetter

Chief Operating Officer

Blye Hofstetter grew up with boats, engines, and the water as the backdrop of his entire childhood. The son of a World Champion, Blye was surrounded by the culture of offshore racing and high-performance marine from the time he could walk. That upbringing didn't just give him knowledge. It gave him a passion for the water that runs as deep as his father's.

Co-founding BTH Marine with his father was the natural next step for Blye. He brings energy, vision, and a modern perspective to the business while staying rooted in the values and standards his father built his career on. Blye is involved in every aspect of BTH Marine's operations, from boat sales and customer relationships to business development and the day-to-day running of the dealership.

BTH Marine is Blye's legacy too. Every day he shows up is another chapter in the story that his father started decades ago on the race course.

Behind every great family business is someone who keeps everything running. At BTH Marine, that person is Abi.

As Chief Financial Officer, Abi oversees the financial operations of BTH Marine and plays a critical role in keeping the business healthy, organized, and positioned for growth. Her work behind the scenes allows Tommy and Blye to focus on what they do best, taking care of customers and delivering the championship standard that BTH Marine is built on.

BTH Marine is a family business in every sense of the word. Tommy, Blye, and Abi are all here, all involved, and all committed to making sure every customer who walks through our doors feels the difference that a true family operation provides.

Atlantis Hofstetter is Tommy's daughter and Blye's sister, and she has taken the Hofstetter family's love of the water to its highest expression. A licensed US Coast Guard Master Captain, Atlantis operates the family charter business, Keys Bluewater Charters out of Worldwide Sportsman in Islamorada aboard a custom 47' Front Runner powered by quad Mercury 600s - one of the most capable offshore charter vessels in the Florida Keys.

Atlantis doesn't just take people out on the water. She curates the entire experience. From planning the itinerary and ensuring the vessel is fully provisioned to knowing every hidden anchorage, fishing ground, and secluded paradise the Florida Keys and beyond have to offer, Atlantis makes sure every charter is an experience her guests will never forget.

We operate a full marina facility with an 80-ton travel lift, dry boat storage, and direct oceanside access. We are authorized dealers for Front Runner Boat Works and Broadwater Boatworks, two of the most sought after custom boat builders in the country. We carry and service every major outboard brand. We install Seakeeper gyroscopes and Seakeeper Ride systems. We build custom trailers. We do boat wraps, upholstery, welding, and full vessel refits.
